Responder Mode

In addition to using Tracker Client to provide Responses, users can enter Responses directly into the Tracker file.  In previous versions of Tracker, users who entered Responses had to enter them via Tracker Client.  In Tracker 1.10, users can enter Responses directly into the Tracker file via Responder mode.  This is a new security setting in which a user is given a login account in which they can only see Tracked Items and Requests assigned to them. While logged in, users can only add Responses for Requests similar to what they would have done using Tracker Client.  No other functions are available with this mode.

You can use a combination of Tracker Client and Responder mode or one exclusively to allow individuals to enter Responses for Tracker Items.

Using Responder Mode

The Tracker user could also send Requests via email from Tracker with the attachment for Tracker Client, but this attachment would be ignored. The email body would contain the information that users have a Request to answer. This option would allow the Tracker user to send a Request to notify people they have to provide a Response and have it appear in Tracker.  There would be no need notify them in a different manner.

This process could be automated so a Request is sent at a scheduled time frame by the Tracker user.  With this option, everyone is using Tracker (not Tracker Client), but still receiving emails from Tracker in which they use the email body to see the Request and respond via Responder mode directly in the Tracker file (not using Tracker Client).
